Poem- Feeling Defeated

 So many people around yet feel so alone,

Neither peace or happiness do I feel in my home.

 

Always in a battle with the ones I love,

Frustration comes in with a push and a shove.

 

Feeling so down my tears begin to fall,

Why is this happening I give it my all?

 

I go out in the world to seek someone like me,

Someone to understand, comfort and can see.

 

These burdens of mine won't back away,

Attacked and pushed aside I feel each day.

 

All the places I have looked nothing has been found,

Lost in my world I just sit without a sound.

 

I am feeling defeated, I give up this fight,

Silence takes over and there is nothing in sight.

 

Peace comes for a much needed visit,

It's been so long I sure did miss it.

 

God's voice I now hear so gentle and true,

He tells me "I have ALWAYS been here with you".

 

Being held in His arms my worries now gone,

I will stay here and rest till night turns to dawn.

 

No longer feeling saddened, scared and alone,

No longer feel like running from this place I call home.

 

No longer feeling as if I am the only one,

No longer feeling as if my happiness is done.

 

Feeling loved and held by the One who knows,

Now having the strength in Him I will grow.

 

I was attacked by the devil which seeped in each day,

Now the tables have turned and I have sent him away.

 

With God I will stay and do my best,

And do what I can when it comes to the rest.
